Legendary posted a link on their Twitter page to an article on the Chinese site, Mtime. The article has an image of the wold's largest sinkhole in Fengjie, China, Xiaozhai Tiankeng, also known as the heavenly pit.
No clue where the image comes from, but careful analysis points us to MUTOresearch.net, a viral marketing site for you-know-who.
We have a full breakdown of everything after the jump, including video, some cast listings, and a little more info on that trailer. Finally!
Cosmic Book News is reporting that Legendary will be releasinging the official teaser trailer for Godzilla, this Tuesday, around 1:00 pm. Looks like it will also be attached to The Hobbit, like everyone thought.
We'll be sure to post the trailer and keep it up, this time. Everyone ready for an early Christmas?
UPDATE: New info from MUTOresearch.net points to a 11pm EST release on Dec 10 being more likely, at least for the viral site. More, here.
UPDATE 2: While the mutoresearch.net data remains the same, USAToday confirmed a 1pm release.
There have been a lot of rumors, leaks, and outright BS associated with the release of Legendary's Godzilla trailer, but it looks like we may finally be getting it, sometime this month. The Alberta Film Classification group is essentially Canada's MPAA, albeit with a beter sense of humor.
Anyway, they recently posted a PG rating for "Godzilla (trailer#1)." Woohoo!
Ratings usually pop up one to two weeks before their release, lending credence to those Hobbit rumors.
So we may see this trailer attached to the December 13 release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, or even sooner, online. The earliest release of the film is the tenth in Norway.
The length of the trailer is 2:25, so it's more likely to be the second trailer that leaked, instead of that 90-second SDCC demo real that was also leaked.
With Biollante shipping in Japan, it's time for 2chan users to post some first impressions. Check out the full gallery after the jump for some informative and obscure photos of Tamashii's recently released S.H. MonsterArts Biollante.
Running Press has listed a book with a Godzilla light and sound figure on Amazon. The place holder image (which has been removed) looks like it was photoshopped from various images. But it does give us another look of the more than likely new Godzilla 2014 design. I personally hope that the final design will look better than this but at least it resembles Godzilla more than G'98 did.

A magazine page of the new MonsterArts Mothra has surfaced showing the different articulation points of our favorite lepidoptera (science term for moth). You can see the abdomen has articulation points that appear more realistic to the character than what was shown in the film. The legs move and I assume there are articulation with her mandibles, antennae, and mouth. This page doesn't display much of the wing articulation but we've seen those from previous posts.
UPDATE: Tamashii's web page provides official shots of their new Mothra. More after the jump.
Anyone with even a little history with me knows I have a special place in my heart for Trendmasters. I just love them, especially the unreleased lines like Doom Island, Origins, and the Animated Series.
Well, thanks to another dedicated Trendmasters fan, Jonathan Shyman (Trendmasters on our boards), the commercials for these lines have now been uploaded to YouTube! Check out the Godzilla Doom Island and Animated Series commercials, below.
Just look at that 90's CG!
Look at that! You can see the battery pack used on Biollante! This figure was especially made for the commercial. The battery pack was to power the extra LEDs used to make her brighter.
These come from a promotional pack given to retailers by Trendmasters reps. The pack included a DVD with commercials from their latest product lines. Unfortunately, after the less-than-stellar sales of the 98 movie line, retailers not only skipped on wave two, but the animated figures as well, so they were never released.
It's unclear if the 10" Doom Island figures were ever officially released. There are some reports of them being sold in American stores, but none of the packaged figures are properly marked and all share the same UPC code. This, along with statements by former employees, points to these figures being test runs of the manufacturing and packaging process.
You can read more about Trendmasters and Doom Island on our forums, here.
I think during Edwards' interview with IGN at SDCC, earlier this year, he all but said Godzilla would have his atomic breath. The Tristar Zilla film sort of dug itself even deeper by simplying making an omage to the weapon, but it doesn't look like Legendary will make the same mistake.
Thanks to another toy description leak, we seem to have confirmed that the king will have his signature attack in 2014.
Godzilla 2014 Movie Deluxe Attack & Roar Action Figure Asst is an Urban Collector pre-order. With collector-level detailing, this large scale figure brings the new Godzilla to life as he blasts his powerful atomic breath and lets out his iconic roar! Figure measuresapproximately 10' tall, and features authentic sounds and 'atomic breath' action. Openbox packaging.
I was already leaning towards atomic breath being present, so this only reassures me.
Next in our Sunday SHMA image dump, Mothra and Battra! Mothra will be a web-only figure in Japan, but Bluefin will be releasing her stateside soon after her initial launch in March. Battra will make its way over, early next year, in February.
More SHMA goodness from Toho Seesaa. This time, it's photos and a video of the upcoming Godzilla 2000 in the S.H. MonsterArts line from Bandai-Tamashii Nations. G2k got a holographic display, showing him being hit with missiles in front of a flaming city. Expect Godzilla 2000, in January of 2014.
